SOME INSIGHT ON DYSLEXIA...

It seems that almost everyone has heard of the term: DYSLEXIA...but how many people REALLY know what Dyslexia actually is? How would you know if your child was Dyslexic and where would you take your child to determine if in fact they do (or do not) have Dyslexia?

The purpose of this site is to share some useful information on Dyslexia from a visual aspect in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Dyslexia in patients of all ages, while focusing primarily on how vision plays an important role in overcoming road blocks/obstacles in reading and learning.

I am a recent optometric graduate from the University of Missouri-St. Louis School of Optometry.

I want to learn...I REALLY do!!
but every time I try it is just a blur!
The teachers say that I am "stupid"
and that I don't try hard enough...BUT I DO!!

They just don't understand that I try my best...
and that I DO want to learn!!
But it seems that the harder I try...
the madder the teachers get!

I got in trouble today...
and I don't even know why!!
Again, it seems that the MORE I try to learn...
the MORE I get in trouble!

I try to SEE the words
but it is like seeing a foreign language
All those shapes and symbols...
Have you ever seen hyperglypherics???

What is wrong with me?
Why can't I learn?
Am I really stupid???
Can anyone help me? Will they?
